Mrs Winters and Mrs Morris and their First Grade class had a special visitor today. They got to meet a bearded dragon and they also learned about what they eat and how cold-blooded animals are different than we are.

Ms. Moore’s 5th grade ELA students had a paint party making their own gingerbread men and women.
DES Faculty and Staff
St. Nick made a stop by DES today to visit with our students. Before he headed back North, Superintendent Drew Pitcock updated the naughty and nice list with him.
Mrs. Baker’s class says “Thank you, Mrs. Clark!” for purchasing fun card games for the class.
Mrs Ford and Mrs. McCluskey's kindergarten class book exchange was held today.
Fourth grade reviewed their energy transfers standards by creating simple circuits out of aluminum and old Christmas lights. Students designed a Christmas tree and were challenged to complete the circuit to light the tree up!
DES library students have enjoyed guest readers last week! Thanks to all who came to read Christmas books!
As part of their unit on the book, Olive, the Other Reindeer, Mr. Brown taught a vocabulary lesson on musical instruments with Mrs. Sain’s Superstars. Thanks Mr. Brown for helping us better understand what a flute looks and sounds like and for the mini-concert of your trombone.

Thank you to the Electric Department and City of Water Valley for coming to our rescue restoring power just in time for the Talent Show! Our students have been working hard in preparation.
They also helped solve some of our flooding problems! Thanks again to these hard working men!

Ms. Pittman and Ms. Cee classes were rewarded with ice cream sundaes for working hard and growing on benchmarks and improving in I-ready.
